Description
Essential element for the operation of a self-contained isothermal solution, for transporting temperature-sensitive products in the 2/8°C range.
They can be rigid or flexible, and each has its own performance, determined by its capacity/weight.
Their gel content is phase-changeable at 0°C.
The benefits
– Rigid high-density polyethylene (HDPE) prevents breakage and leaks.
– Non-toxic.
– Does not stain.
– Can be customized with the customer’s logo.
– Easy to use and handle.
– Reusable.

We’ve been building on our expertise in the manufacture and design of isothermal packaging for over 30 years. We support our customers in their need to respect and protect the cold chain. When we talk about the cold chain, we mean all logistics and transport operations from supplier to customer. From storage on the quay to final delivery.
The main advantage of icepack is that it keeps the interior environment of the isothermal packaging in good working order. Not breaking the cold chain allows products (food or medical) to retain all their properties. Imagine if you had to use a vaccine and its cold chain had been broken in transit, causing it to lose its properties, or if the food product had developed bacteria.
It’s very simple to use a cold accumulator: first, you need to put it in a suitable place so that it can store energy. For the 2/8°C thermal accumulator, you’ll need to put it in the freezer 48 hours before use. To protect your product properly, take it out 30 minutes before use to bring it up to temperature. In fact, if your accumulator is too cold, it could freeze your product because it’s too cold, i.e. when it comes out of the freezer, it’s at a temperature of -21°C. Then place it in your isothermal solution. The more insulating the packaging, the longer the phase-change time and the higher the product temperature.
The 2/8°C thermal accumulator is an icepack that changes phase at 0°C, i.e. when it reaches its phase-change temperature, it releases the stored energy to maintain the internal temperature of your isothermal solution under the right conditions. When it is taken out of the freezer, it is frozen, i.e. solid. When it reaches its phase-change temperature, the inside of the gelpack changes from solid to liquid, i.e. melts.
This type of thermal accumulator is used if you wish to preserve your product between 2/8°C. As soon as it enters phase change, the stored energy is released, enabling your product to be stored in a suitable environment. There are other types of accumulator, which enable your product to be stored under different conditions. If your product needs to be kept at room temperature (15/25°C), you’ll need to choose the right accumulator. The same applies if your product needs to be kept at -21°C. It’s important to choose the right accumulator for your needs, and to understand the phase change of each accumulator so you can choose the one best suited to your product. Rigid batteries have a service life of 20,000 cycles. All our accumulators are tested with our solutions in climatic chambers, so that we can offer you GDP-validated products.
Our design department will tailor packaging to suit your needs: transport time, handles, pre-cutting, tear-off strip…
Need specific validation?
Our climatic chambers test the performance of your isothermal packaging, including for other uses, products or destinations.
To personalize your isothermal packaging (logo, slogan, recycling info, contact details), our graphics department will work with you to validate your artwork. Packaging that reflects your corporate image.
I need to ship heat-sensitive products, but I’m not familiar with the subject. I need advice on organization, equipment and good distribution practices.
