What is a -18°C negative accumulator?
It’s a cold accumulator designed to maintain your frozen or deep-frozen products during transport, keeping them at a temperature of around -18°C. Unlike ice, this accumulator requires no electrical connection and ensures more stable, controlled performance for longer periods.
What’s it for?
This type of accumulator is used when you need to transport products that need to remain frozen: frozen foods, biological samples, medicines, vaccines, etc.
It keeps your products at a low temperature thanks to a eutectic gel that changes phase (it melts or freezes at a precise temperature). For this accumulator, this change point is below -18°C.
Why choose this accumulator rather than dry ice?
Dry ice is effective, but it has its drawbacks:
– It evaporates quickly, which limits its useful life ,- It can be dangerous to handle (e.g. burns) ,- It is not always authorized for all types of transport.

How do I use it?
1. Place the accumulator in the freezer, at a temperature of at least -21°C, until its contents are completely solid.
2. Insert it in your isothermal solution (cooler, bag, isothermal crate) just before shipping.
3. It will gradually release its cold, keeping products at low temperature for several hours.
How does it perform?
The better your packaging is insulated, the longer the accumulator remains effective. Its gel melts very slowly, so it can be used for longer periods at negative temperatures. It is this phase of change of state (from solid to liquid) that ensures a constant temperature.
Is it reusable?
Yes, this battery can be reused at will. Simply return it to the freezer after each use. It’s sturdy, with rigid plastic and reinforced welds to prevent leakage or deformation, and can be used dozens of times without losing its effectiveness.
Is it compatible with food transport?
Absolutely. It’s suitable for food contact, which means you can use it to transport frozen foods such as fish, meat or even ice cream.
