What is an isothermal bag for transporting meals or foodstuffs?

The isothermal bag is a product that keeps your food at the right temperature, thus preserving all its qualities over what is known as the last mile, from producer to consumer.
It’s made of two layers, outer and inner, of metallized PET film and an intermediate layer of expanded PE foam.
The bags are food-contact certified and reusable.
Available in a variety of forms, with cut, rigid or clipped handles, flat-bottomed or gusseted, with zip fastening, our wide range is suitable for the greatest number of people, depending on the type of product to be transported and the quantity.

What is the use of an isothermal bag in the food industry?

The isothermal bag acts as a barrier to outside temperatures, insulating its contents. It keeps food cold or hot, thus preventing the cold chain from being broken. Without it, you’re likely to encourage the development of bacteria, leading to food poisoning.
They’re often used for temperatures between 2° and 8°C, or for frozen foods at -18°C, with the addition of ice packs.

How to prepare your cooler bag?

Before use, the bag should be cleaned of dust, dirt and bacteria.
Add cold packs according to the length of time the bag will be used and the desired temperature.
Some bags already have gel inside one side of the bag. In this case, it is necessary to store the bag in the freezer before use.
Close the bag quickly after adding your products, minimizing the opening and closing of the bag before arriving at your destination.
