Local producers, downtown customers, transporters, cyclo-logisticians, technicians, builders, public bodies, professional chambers and various partners are all actively involved in setting up a regular weekly Beaujolais -> Lyon -> Beaujolais service.
Soft mobility is obviously at the heart of the project.
A test run took place on November 9 and 10.
ISOVATION took part in a demonstration of sustainable logistics unique in France.
Thanks to the self-contained isothermal packaging manufactured by ISOVATION, transport by barge on the Saône and then the Rhône was completed on 10/11.
7 days before the Beaujolais nouveau was officially launched, the first bottles were delivered under optimum temperature conditions, thanks to gentle, carbon-free logistics.
Chocolates, cheese and other heat-sensitive fresh produce were also delivered to their end customers in Lyon.
This gentle delivery of fresh produce on the Saône and then the Rhône proves that the river model should be used without moderation whenever possible.
This means fewer trucks on the road, and above all, less carbon is released into the atmosphere. Of course, France can’t be delivered by river to every location, but we’re lucky to have a territory with so many rivers that allow this type of low-carbon delivery! It would be an ecological and societal mistake not to do so!
Let’s think about the Earth we’ll be leaving to our children, and not waste the gentle transport solutions it offers us.
ISOVATION, thanks to its design office and R&D department, will always take part in the advances that will enable us to live in a better world.
Today we’re working on rail solutions as well as maritime ones, and always in self-contained refrigerated containers powered by renewable energies.
Innovating in insulation is what makes us love our work.
Here is a return in a very nice video proposed by BFT transports and Lium :
